ABSTRACT
This article discusses the low viewership of Fox Business Network (FBN) three months after its launch as a populist alternative to CNBC, the preferred news choice of the business class. The journalistic approach of the latest outlet from Rupert Murdoch and his News Corp. is discussed, including the studied avoidance of Wall Street jargon as part of an effort to pull in more average middle class viewers. The effort is seen as failing because of a conservative bias that calls for an optimistic economic outlook out of touch with the plight of many average Americans.
