ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the recent trend in information technology for 2008. It mentions the increasing demand of Wi-Fi-enabled devices with basis on the data released by Wi-Fi Alliance, showing that more than 300 million Wi-Fi chipsets were shipped in 2007 and 700 million devices to be shipped by 2011. It also stresses that such trend is also reflected at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008, considering that there were a fair number of Wi-Fi enabled devices ranging from gadgets to furniture that were exhibited.
