ABSTRACT
This article discusses the history of the establishment of relationships and the rituals used by parties, friends, and business to assure the other party of a promise and the evolution of contracts in business relationships. The article evaluates covenant-based relationships and how a promise to a client means more to the client then what has been written down in a legal document. The article also discusses the nature of contracts and covenants by comparing and contrasting the two business methods.
