ABSTRACT
The article discusses a report by the Internet marketing company eMarketer that predicts media spending for online advertising in the U.S. will increase as compared to previous years. The report discusses how advertising on social network websites and Internet video sites will increase and suggests that U.S. online advertising will double over five years. Analysts are observing the fragmentation of media, how the Internet functions in advertising campaigns, and consumer control. The author suggests the creation of Internet content will be necessary to attract consumers and spread word-of-mouth.
