ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study on the developmental stammering (DS) also known as the idiopathic stammering or stuttering. DS is a disorder of speech fluency and it affects less than 1% of the populations of Great Britain, Australia, and America. According to the study, DS can be distinguished through the occurrence of subsequent neurological damage of various aetilogies and psychogenic stammering. Both neurogenic stammering and psychogenic types are associated with adults while its diagnosis can be made during early childhood and adolescence.
