ABSTRACT
The article discusses research that suggests the importance of market research, knowledge management and cross-functional collaboration in the development of product innovation. A study by researchers Luigi M. De Luca and Kwaku Atuahene-Gima analyzed Chinese technology companies and revealed that knowledge of customers and competitors, collaboration between finance, marketing and research and development (R&D) divisions and systems to distribute and share knowledge in an organization have positive effects on innovations. The author suggests managers must promote knowledge integration through the proper allocation of resources.
