ABSTRACT
The article deals with the misuse of carbon offsets in line with the growing demand for carbon offsets and the introduction of carbon-reduction plans. An investigation by the "Guardian" newspaper determined that the carbon-offset "gift packs" being sold by the London Science Museum were padded with empty credits. A recent study by Tufts University surveyed various Web sites that offer plane-travel offsets, and found wildly different measurements of carbon output.
