ABSTRACT
3PL (Third-Party Logistics) services providers play an important role in accomplishing the shippers' objectives. 3PL services providers are to be selected cautiously as potential 3PL can help shippers in accomplishing their desired objectives. Potential selection of 3PL services providers requires consideration of comprehensive selection criteria having good relevance to the present and future needs. Fuzzy synthetic evaluation methodology integrating TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) may be employed for critically analyzing potential 3PL services providers in fuzzy environment. This paper describes the evaluation and selection of 3PL services providers for MNC operating in electric switchgear production. Selected criteria have been assessed using Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFN). The case study of MNC demonstrates fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methodology which uses fuzzy synthetic evaluation and TOPSIS methodology to evaluate the best 3PL services provider.
