ABSTRACT
The article features screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola. He attended Hofsra University on a drama scholarship and began making short films after he graduated. He decided to capitalize on the then-current interest in nudie-cutie films and wrote a short called "The Peeper" that he convince a producer to let him direct. Following the success of "Easy Rider" in 1969, he worked for Seven Arts, writing a number of screenplays. Warner Bros. hired Coppola to direct a cinematic adaptation of the stage musical "Finian's Rainbow." Coppola is most renowned for directing the highly regarded trilogy of "The Godfather."
