The article discusses the development of the Association of Arab-American University Graduates (AAUG) following the 1967 Arab-Israeli war. Particular focus is given to the influence of scholar Ibrahim Abu-Lughod in recruiting members and the heterogeneous nature of the organization during its early years. The author attributes the disintegration of the organization to the failure of its members to organize, work with discipline and overcome individualism.
