The article reveals that annual electricity prices in Great Britain tumbled in the second half of January on the back of a slide on oil, coal and gas markets. However, the downward momentum was interrupted by a significant rebound in international coal prices. Summer '08 power prices have also been better supported than other periods, amid fears that supplies may be constrained by extended nuclear plant outages. Another key uncertainty offering support to the Summer '08 contract is the continuing outages at the Hartlepool and Heysham nuclear reactors.
