Exchanges ready to merge in the spring

The article reports on a negotiation between the Dutch European Energy Derivatives Exchange (Endex) and other European exchanges about mergers in the electricity and gas markets. Endex supports the consolidation of Europe's exchanges to boost liquidity and help build a single European energy market. Endex Chairman Stephan Grossfeld hopes to reach contract with one or more bourses by the spring. Since July 2006, Endex has co-operated with Leipzig-based ECC, the spin-off clearing house of German exchange EEX.
