ABSTRACT
This section offers news briefs on the chemical industry in India as of February 2008. Evonik, the German industrial group, announced that it has expanded its five-year old research and development (R&D) center in Mumbai. IChemE, Center for Process Safety (CCPS), and the Indian Chemicals Council (ICC) have formed a joint Indian Process Safety Center (IPSC). Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd. (HOCL) announced that it is conducting a search for joint venture partners aimed at chemicals production.
