ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Laureen Ong, the new chief operating officer at Rupert Murdoch's Asia-wide satellite television (TV) service, Star, in the U.S. Ong will be managing a total of 3,000 staff to deliver television shows to more than 300 million homes daily. The new program will try to serve a diverse mix of cultures, economies and challenging regulatory environments. As its first chief executive officer (CEO), Ong will be leading the network into 66 million homes.
