ABSTRACT
The article reports that leaders of three interior designer groups are leading an effort to overturn sales tax rulings by the North Carolina Department of Revenue, which they claim could put many designers out of business. According to the American Society of Interior Designers, International Interior Design Association and Interior Design Society, the state has started demanding some designers to collect state sales tax on consulting fees from clients who also purchase products from them.
