ABSTRACT
The article reports on the declining number of adults who read newspapers in the United States. According to industry reports, circulation has slipped during the period 1995-1999 by more than five per cent during the week and by 3.6 per cent on Sundays. Meanwhile, media buyers and advertisers are disappointed at the low participation of newspapers in readership data services.
