ABSTRACT
The article examines the association of HIV and hepatitis C infection prevalence and the length of time of regular injection drug use in Baltimore, Maryland. Regular users of intravenous drugs were more likely to be infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) or HIV compared to short term injectors. Results suggest that injectors may benefit from targeted HCV and HIV prevention interventions.
