ABSTRACT
The article reports on the advertising campaign launched by Reston, Virginia-based OneMain.com to promote its first national Internet service providers (ISP) focused on smaller communities, in April 2000. The campaign included television spots which appeared in small metropolitan areas. It is also composed of billboards on trucks with the tag line, Your Hometown Internet. This advertising campaign follows the company's integration of local ISP it has acquired in other markets. It went public in March 1999, during which it also announced 17 acquisitions. Since then, it has acquired 11 more local ISP across the country.
