The article focuses on Japan's Kao Corp.'s presence in the United States market. Acquisition is an important part of Kao's growth strategy. Kao Corp. President Takuya Goto has identified expansion in North America as a top priority and is looking at organic growth, alliances, licensing and acquisitions that will provide platforms to expand in areas where Kao can leverage its core strengths in technology.
