ABSTRACT
The article reports on the economic stimulus bill that was approved in the House but faced an uncertain path in the U.S. Senate. The Senate was encouraged by key congressional leaders to embrace the bipartisan stimulus, noting that senators may delay help to the economy that was badly needed. Meanwhile, information on the proposal of Senate Finance Committee Max Baucus to broaden the legislation and the reaction of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to the said proposal is offered.
