The article reports on the restoration of power supplies to customers of electricity network operators in Northern Ireland and Scotland after storms brought down electrical wires and poles. Northern Ireland Electricity restored supplies within hours to all but 1,700 of the 20,000 customers cut off across the north of the province by damage caused by high winds. The storm then crossed the Irish Sea and disrupted supplies to 20,000 ScottishPower and 12,000 Scottish and Southern Energy customers.
