ABSTRACT
The author explains why he believes the surge of military troops in Iraq has helped to stabilize the country. The author reports about his experience of going over to Iraq and visiting the small rural villages of the country. According to the author, the areas where U.S. troops have a substantial presence, there is more security, more grassroots political activity, and more economic progress.
