ABSTRACT
The article reports on Novell's announcement of the availability of the SUSE (R) Linux Enterprise Server Starter System for the System z mainframes of IBM. The need to search for network access to installation media on the mainframe is eliminated with the use of the starter system. The system will also enable customers to quickly initiate evaluations of the SUSE system. The starter system was developed for Novell by Sine Nomine Associates. According to the article, the system will help customers reduce software platform costs.
