ABSTRACT
The article discusses medical works on adrenoleukodystrophy (Addison-Schilder syndrome) in the nineteenth century. Thomas Edison found the pathological changes in Addison disease. Paul Ferdinand Schilder reported the three cases of encephalitis perixialis diffusa which was named as Schilder's disease. It is mentioned that Addison-Schilder syndrome may affect people of all ages.
