The article presents recommendations from the Committee on Accreditation regarding updates on the standards of the American Library Association (ALA) Council at its meeting in the U.S. The five recommendations include the approval by Council on the enhanced emphasis on systematic planning as an essential component in the accreditation process, incorporation of terminology linking compliance with the Standards to student learning outcomes, and updating the language related to diversity.
