The article offers information on the closure of the Owyhee Dam in the Owyhee River in Nevada that also ended the salmon market in the country. During the 19th century, salmon was so important in Nevada that a law was formulated to prevent the fishing in the dam without the use of fish ladders. In 1990, construction of private powers and irrigation companies have caused the blocking of chinook salmons to the Owyhee river, thus resulting salmon markets to disappear. The Owyhee Dam was closed in December 1932 by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
