ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a study which explored the contents and structure of school web sites, as well as the responsiveness of web sites to a school's environment. The study conducted a review of literature regarding school web sites. It discovered that symbolic and technical factors are more evident in the web sites of secular schools than in religious schools. It also found that school web sites differ in contents, combinations of categories and degrees of development. The study concluded that web sites are being used by schools as an accountability tool and marketing strategy.
