The article reports on several lawsuits filed by Lori Swanson, Minnesota's Attorney General, against insurance agents over the alleged aggressive sales practices of these agents to seniors. Swanson brought a lawsuit in January 2007 against Allianz Life Insurance Co. over more than 250 complaints about sales of annuities with long surrender periods. Similar lawsuits were filed by Swanson against American Equity Investment Life insurance Co. and Midland National Life Insurance Co.
