ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Apama event processing platform of Progress Software Corp. has been enhanced to speed the development of order-routing strategies while helping clients meet the best-execution demands of the European Union's Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) and Regulation National Market System (NMS) in the U.S. According to Chris Martins, product marketing manager at Apama, rather than building algorithms from the ground up, there is now accelerator templates, or core foundation algorithms for smart-order routing.
