The article reports on the plan of Haldex to restructure the business unit Friction Products under its Commercial Vehicles Systems (CVS) division by discontinuing production of lining products for drum brakes at its plant in Prattville, Alabama. Haldex believes that the measure will result in cost savings and increased profitability. The firm has entered into agreements with a number of suppliers in nations offering low-cost production. The operations that produce lining products for disc brakes focus mainly on the North American market.
