ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a non-binding memorandum of understanding between General Motors (GM) Corp. and International Truck and Engine Corp., the principal operating subsidiary of Navistar International Corp. in the U.S. Navistar would acquire the medium-duty truck business of GM, which includes intellectual property rights to manufacture GMC and Chevrolet brand vehicles. Navistar would add the GMC TopKick and Chevrolet Kodiak brands to its portfolio. The production of the vehicles would move from a GM plant to a Navistar facility when a deal is closed.
