ABSTRACT
The article emphasizes the need for human resources (HR) professionals to address the potential business threat of employees watching television (TV) at their computers following the launch of the BBC iPlayer service which allows users to download previously shown TV shows. Nigel Hawthorn of Blue Coat Systems, has warned that it could lead to employees watching their favourite shows on their personal computers when they should be working. Hawthorn said that HR and information technology functions needed to tackle the problem together.
