Country Report
This article presents an analysis of political risk and macroeconomic prospects for Poland for 2008. It is noted that the surge in inflation during the last four months of 2007 will overflow into the first quarter of 2008. It is also expected that domestic price pressures, in line with the need to satisfy the national bank's 2.5% inflation target, will raise the impetus for a further 100bp hike in the reference rate to 6% by end-2008.
