ABSTRACT
The article reports on the impact of the European Union's Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH) program on the soap and detergent industry. From a sustainability standpoint, the environmental footprints of cleaning are energy use, water and packaging and the REACH does not address those. When regulating a chemical product, it has a global impact in the global information environment.
