ABSTRACT
The article discusses issues concerning the initial public offering of Evonik Industries. The company seems unsure of whether a listing or its alternative plan of selling a 25-33% stake to a private investor outside the stock market is the best way forward. At the end of 2007, all of the company's shares were taken over by the state-backed RAG foundation that also holds its mining activities.
