ABSTRACT
The article reports that 2007 has been a good and bad year for the upholstery fabric industry in the U.S. It states that two of the largest upholstery mills in the country failed and the phrase "worst business conditions since the 1970s" may have been the most-uttered words of the year. The good news, according to Roger Berkeley of the National Textile Association, was that other domestic producers responded quickly to take up the slack when Ouaker and Joan went down.
