ABSTRACT
The article reports on the strategies that Pakistan must pursue to respond to its present energy crises. Considering that Pakistan produces about 19,500 megawatt (MW) of electric power, its electricity demand is expected to grow by 8% a year from 2005 to 2015. With its natural gas supply being depleted, Pakistan needs to explore nuclear, coal and other alternative energy sources. The country needs to find ways to increase its power-generating capacity.
