Mattress USA chain begins liquidation

The article reports that Mattress USA company which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December 2007 has begun its liquidation sale expected to complete in early February 2008 in Norfolk, Virginia. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court has granted approval to the retailer to conduct the sale and shutdown operations. Among the retailer's unsecured creditors are Serta Inc., Consolidated Bedding Inc. and Spears Mattress Co.
