ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of the assets of youth bedroom manufacturer Opus Designs Furniture LLC by Hooker Furniture Corp. for $5.1 million in cash in Martinsville, Virginia. The acquisition is in line with Hooker's plan to build a stronger youth bedroom program at more moderate price. Additionally, Hooker will provide service and operational support and products will be sold under the Opus Designs brand. Meanwhile, Hooker sold its last U.S. wood furniture plant in Virginia.
