ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decline in the stock index of media companies in January 2008. Reportedly, the decline in the index's -7.5%, as compared to the -4.6% in Dow's, was attributed to the weakening U.S. economy. Yahoo!'s stock price of $19.18 per share on January 31 came prior to Microsoft's $44.6 billion/$31-per-share bid on February 1.
