The author discusses the updates on the "Prisoner Reentry Roundtable," a convention of the U.S. Department of Education to be held at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City in March 2008. The author said that the roundtable will examine the role of education to as an effective tool in moving people out who are in prison or to help them out from being a prisoner. Bruce Western, professor of John F. Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Massachusetts and the author of "Punishment and Inequality in America," was slated to speak in the convention on which the author said who was also been invited in a convened conducted by the U.S. Congress on October 4, 2007.
