ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the promotion of Ann Marie Kerwin to New York bureau chief of Advertising Age magazine. Kerwin has been deputy bureau chief and also covered magazine, newspaper and book publishing. Kerwin joined Advertising Age in April 1997 as senior editor covering print media. Prior to that, she had been editor in chief of Folio: First Day magazine. She also held reporting positions at Inside Media and Editor & Publisher magazines. In addition, two new reporters have joined Advertising Age. Effective March 20, 2000, New York City-based Richard Linnett will cover agencies, with a focus on media specialists. Coinciding with Linnett's joining the agency reporting team, New York City-based reporter Laura Petrecca will add coverage of sports marketing and athletic footwear to her continuing agency beat responsibilities. Los Angeles, California-based reporter Wayne Friedman will add coverage of television industry to his existing entertainment marketing duties. Also joining Advertising Age is Chicago, Illinois-based Kate MacArthur, who will cover the fast-food and soft-drink industries. Finally, Scott MacDonald has joined the Advertising Age Dataplace staff as a research coordinator.
