ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the move of Vanguard Group, an investment firm, to enter the exchange traded fund (ETF) market. It explains that ETF was conceived by Nathan Most, a former employee of Vanguard. Most first approach Vanguard founder John Bogle about ETF but Bogle was not interested so Most when to other investment firm which accepted his idea. Today ETF is worth $576 billion. Vanguard under John Brennan, the sucessor of Bogle, has entered ETF in 2001 and as of Janaury 2008 has $43 billion in ETF funds.
