ABSTRACT
The article focuses on property development in Georgia. The state's most popular destination was Jekyll Island during the 1960s and 1970s but as years passed and its appeal faded. In October 2007, the Buccaneer Hotel was torn down through orders from the Jekyll Island State Park Authority. To spearhead redevelopment of the hotel's location Linger Longer Communities was chosen for the project.
