ABSTRACT
The article reports on the revelation by CHL Mortgages of the £186 million lending volumes in December 2007 that showed a year-on-year growth of 24% in Great Britain. The firm resisted the industry trend as Council of Mortgage Lenders figures show that estimated gross mortgage lending fell from £28.6 billion in December 2006 to £22.6 billion in December 2007. Furthermore, CHL also unveiled that its completions hit £2.2 billion in 2007, a year-on-year increase of 50%.
