ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the therapeutic effect of Banff Upper Hot Springs in Alberta. The spring offers mineral-rich waters with a sulpherous smell. Its waters were used by the Europeans to treat diseases including infertility, rheumatism and paralysis. Charles Darwin took the waters to treat dyspepsia, giving a renovating action on his health. Its mineral water was bottled and sold as Lithia water for a short time until medical experts realized that one of its active ingredient, Lithium, was addictive. The mineral waters offer the undiluted, exquisite pleasure of soaking up the heat among scenic nature.
