ABSTRACT
The article looks at the impact of government regulations as innovative drivers for a paradigm shift in the paint and coatings market. Some of the mandated plans of the government could be characterized as switch to an alternative technology and install control or recovery technology. Technologies such as waterborne coatings, powder coatings, high-solid coatings and radiation-curable coatings emerged as a result of industry research efforts. Green Seal is one of the leading non-profit certification organizations that has developed environmental standards.
