ABSTRACT
The article discusses the decline in fill rates offered by tire makers to their dealers, and the problems manufacturers and dealers face due to it. Dan Beach, president of Tire Alliance Groupe mentioned the closure of domestic capacity and the depressed dollar as major reasons for low fill rates. Tire manufacturers build up their capacity between May and August and wrong guesses lead to shortages.
