ABSTRACT
The article reports that Senate Democratic leaders are calling for consideration of a second stimulus package in the U.S. It is aimed at strengthening the country's economy by providing budgets for infrastructure projects and other aid to states and cities. It states that the short-term stimulus is expected to come from economic package negotiated by House leaders and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. The core of the package worth $150 billion consists of cash rebates and tax breaks.
