ABSTRACT
The article discusses the restoration project at Palmer House Hilton. Capitalizing on Chicago's booming convention business, the Palmer House Hilton is undergoing renovation for its aging infrastructure. The renovation which includes more than 1,400 rooms required the programming and design expertise of Loebl Schlossman & Hackl, and the implementation of Pepper Construction. Among the challenges cited for renovation were uncovering original plumbing and mechanical chases, and remodeling for sustainable design features.
